Launching ‘My Guide’ Family Travel Directory

Holidaying with boys can be loud, messy, fast-paced and utterly exhausting, so making it easier and more exciting for families to get out there and explore, has been key to the new family travel directory My Guide, launched by Travel with Boys this week.

My Guide allows parents to search, map, save their favourites, and book everything they need for their next holiday or weekend away in Australia. Every listing is handpicked and reviewed by our family travel experts to ensure it meets our standards, no matter whether it’s budget, mid-range or luxury.

We’ve put in the big hours of searching for the things we think you’ll love the most and trying them out, so that you can spend more time doing the things you love. We’ve got you covered when it comes to revealing the insider tips, the best age groups for each, what’s nearby to do and where to stay. You can even book your accommodation, attractions and tours.

The Gold Coast is the first destination to be rolled out in My Guide, and there are plenty more cities and regions to come, as we search for the best things for families of boys to see, do, eat, stay and play.

For Founder of Travel with Boys, Nicci O’Mara, when you’ve got kids and desperately need a holiday, the last thing you want to do is use up valuable brain space and time, trying to think of where to go, what to do and everything in between. So, often it’s just easier to book the same place you always go to.

“The only problem with that is you’re missing out,” Nicci said. “There is so much to discover around Australia and the world, and going somewhere new will create amazing memories, and your kids will learn more than you ever thought possible.”

“My Guide will allow parents to see the options without drowning in information,” Nicci said.

Travel With Boys is the online destination for family-friendly travel, featuring things to do, places to stay, inspiration, tips and resources for cities and towns in Australia, Europe, USA and more. Served up with a dash of humour, Travel with Boys is practical, exciting, and a great go-to resource for those travelling with boys.

Nicci’s idea behind launching Travel with Boys was simple: “I was frustrated with the huge amount of time it would take to wade through destination information that was so general in nature, it was hard to know whether it was suitable,” Nicci explains. “Families of boys need space to move inside and out, minimal objects to break, good food options and a bit of risk aversion on the side.”

“Travelling together as a family has opened our eyes to a world of new experiences and has given us and our boys a different perspective on life,” Nicci says. “There is no better way to teach our boys about people, cultures, money, wildlife, and nature than to let them experience it firsthand.”
